Runners and families will gather in Alys Beach for the Fifth Annual 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run on Sunday, September 4, 2016. Proceeds will benefit Alaqua Animal Refuge, a no-kill shelter on the Emerald Coast that has helped find homes for 11,000 animals since its inception in 2007.

The certified 5K will start in the Alys Beach Amphitheatre and wind through the Gulf-side community and nature trail.

Following the 5K, a family-friendly 1-mile Fun Run will kick off for children ages 12 and younger.

After the races, runners can gather in the Amphitheatre for awards, live music, a bounce house and more.
