Seeking youth golfers aged 8 to 18 to play in Junior Golf Classic July 11 and 12 

(Niceville, FL) May  17,  2018…The Northwest Florida Daily News will be hosting the 39th Annual Marvin DeBolt Junior Golf Classic with the proceeds benefiting the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center. (ECCAC)

Young golfers aged 8 to 18, are encouraged to play in the 2-day tournament at the Eglin AFB Eagle golf course on Wednesday and Thursday, July 11 and 12. Youth aged 12 to 18 will play 18 holes each day, and 8 to 11 year-olds will play 9 holes each day. With tee times starting at 8 a.m. each morning, 12 to 18 year-old’s entry fee is $95, and 8 to 11-year-olds’ entry fee is $60, which includes green fees, food, refreshments, and trophies to winners in all divisions. With the assistance of the Emerald Cost Junior Golf Tour organization, tournament results for participating youth players will be sent to the National Junior Golf Scoreboard for ranking consideration. Beginner and intermediate players are also welcome.

The golf tournament’s beneficiary, Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center, serves young victims of abuse and neglect at two child-friendly centers, the Pierce Family Children’s Advocacy Center in DeFuniak Springs and the Niceville Center.  A nonprofit organization, ECCAC’s mission is to protect children in Okaloosa and Walton counties and restore the lives of impacted children and their families.

This annual Junior Golf Tournament is named in honor of the tournament founder, Marvin DeBolt, publisher emeritus of the Northwest Florida Daily News. Entry deadline is noon on Saturday, July 7.
