WCSO LOOKING FOR BAREFOOT BURGLAR RESPONSIBLE FOR BREAK-IN AT VILLA TASO GAS STATION

VILLA TASSO, Fla— The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at a gas station near the Okaloosa/Walton County line on Highway 20 that happened early Wednesday morning.

At approximately 4 am, the shoeless suspect is seen on surveillance video lingering in the parking lot of Boggy Bayou gas station located at 16080 State Highway 20 West.

The suspect is wearing a full facial mask, long sleeve shirt, gloves, shorts and no shoes. Twice he attempts to break the glass of the front door, but gets spooked by passing cars. For several minutes the suspect lingers in the parking lot before successfully breaking the front door of the business with a rock at 4:24 am.

The suspect enters the store and tries to get into a cabinet under the register before focusing his attention on cigarettes. The suspect is in the store for 17 seconds before fleeing east bound on Highway 20. Three minutes later the store’s alarm company notifies Walton County Sheriff’s Office and deputies respond.
