Walton County Habitat for Humanity Host its Third Annual  Hard Hats & High Heels Fundraising Luncheon

Habitat for Humanity of Walton County, Florida will host the third annual “Hard Hats & High Heels” women’s empowerment luncheon at RedFish Tacos (formally Trebeache) on Friday, March 8th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Presented by The Merchants of Rosemary Beach, over 130 community-minded women will attend the uplifting event in support of Habitat’s mission of providing affordable housing in Walton County.

During the first half of the luncheon women will enjoy networking, getting their photos from Community Bank’s “Construction Couture Fashion” photo booth, and engaging in activities and competitions that include –“She Nailed It” and “Home is the Key” (Sponsored by The Henderson Beach Inn, Silver Sands Premium Outlets and Marimac’s Maison 30A Vacations).  This year’s event has prizes donated by Cowgirl Kitchen, Emerald Coast Chiropractic, Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, Flemings Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, The Hyatt Sandestin Grand Boulevard, The Henderson Beach Inn and Saltwater Vacation Rentals. One person will also be selected in a chance drawing for a $3,600 David Yurman fine watch, sponsored by McCaskill & Company Fine Jewelry and Watches.  The winner does not need to be present to win.

Attendees may bid in the ‘A Brush With Kindness’ silent auction which features five local artists’/designers repurposed pieces from our Habitat’s ReStore. Featured artist include: Katie Kahn of Kahn’s Furniture, Lee Hensley of Lola’s on 30A, Jennifer Jones of Compass Builders of Florida, Marisol Gullo of Not Too Shabby Boutique and Cynthia Ragon Roberson.

During the second half of the event, women will hear from the ‘Who Built You Up?’ guest speaker, Nikki Nickerson, Local Entrepreneur and owner of Blue Mabel, Cowgirl Kitchen, and CK’s Feed & Supply. Custom created Velia Lala Designs awards will recognize the 2019 Glamour to the Hammer and the Veronica Macias 2018 Power Woman of the Year award.“We were extremely honored to host this event with our local community partners,” says Habitat Walton County Executive Director Teresa Imdieke. “Women and businesses are concerned about the status of affordable housing in Walton County. We are bringing them together to advocate on behalf of those in need, to educate them on the status of housing in our area, and provide actionable ways they can help.”

The community plays an instrumental role in ensuring the luncheon’s success.
