If you are looking for a place to dine in Rosemary Beach after a day in the sun, then Edward’s Fine Food & Wine is your go to spot. Nestled in a cozy building with a fabulous courtyard, Edward’s has a very energetic atmosphere featuring live music with indoor and outdoor seating. Their menu caters to seafood and wine lovers (seriously, their wine list is incredible), and their dishes are absolutely stunning in presentation.
To start off the night, Chase and I both decided to order a specialty drink. When I glanced at the menu, I immediately knew that I wanted to order the peach Bellini, a drink that consists of sparkling wine and peach puree. The sweet and tangy effervescence was wonderful to taste and so refreshing. Chase decided to go with a white wine Moscow mule, a drink that neither of us had heard of before. Instead of vodka, Edward’s uses white wine, and they mix the drink together with ginger beer, mint, raspberries, and lime to concoct the perfect cocktail.
For appetizers, we asked our energetic waiter, Slava, what he recommended. “People come back for the crab cakes!” was the first thing he exclaimed, and we were immediately sold. The crab cakes did not appear to have any extra filling, but rather, just contained a copious amount of lump crab meat. The dish was light and full of flavor. I can definitely see why people would be compelled to come back for these. We also ordered a side of roasted Brussel sprouts which happen to be my favorite vegetable. The sprouts featured the perfect amount of malt vinegar, candied pecans, and Manchego cheese; additions making the dish unctuous, especially from the crunchiness from being roasted.
We put in an order for our entrees, and while we were waiting, Slava brought us some fresh bread— it was so incredibly soft and delicious. A must to try when you visit Edward’s.’
For my entree, I decided to go with the Za’atar crusted Yellow Fin Tuna. The dish was complete with a spicy marinade and mayo, ponzu, cucumber, and Napa cabbage-wakame slaw. The flavors of the spicy fish combined with the tangy Asian slaw brought out a unique and zesty flavor that was absolutely scrumptious (Not to mention the presentation was ah-mazing!!). For an extra side, I chose to add some potato fingerlings which paired perfectly with my light tuna dish.
I guess both of us were in a seafood mood because Chase ordered the grilled gulf grouper with creamed corn, grape tomato, Swiss chard, and scallion butter. The grouper was clean and tender—you don’t even need a knife for this dish. The corn was extremely creamy— almost reminiscent of grits—and the hint of cumin gave the dish a bit of a Latin flavor.
As per tradition, Chase and I each ordered our own dessert. A glance at the dessert menu led me to selecting the incredibly decadent double chocolate mousse— a dish that comes with a chocolate brownie, dark chocolate mousse, and white chocolate ganache—I was in heaven! Chase went straight for the key lime pie, which was freshly made with a strong lime taste and thin, flaky crust. Both desserts are fantastic, and I highly recommend ordering them.
Overall, our experience with Edward’s was great! The service was fast, and the people were friendly. I highly recommend dining here when visiting Rosemary Beach.
