THIS WEEKEND: Beloved Fall Film Fest Returns to Watercolor – Nov 4-5

Entering its 16th year, the Telluride MountainFilm on Tour returns to WaterColor Inn & Resort’s Marina Park outdoor amphitheater November 4-5. The festival showcases a selection of films from the International Film Festival and furthers the MountainFilm mission of exploring cultures, preserving environments and promoting adventure. This year’s film selections cover a wide range of topics, from an epic ski journey across Russia in “The Great Siberian Traverse” to the cultural evolution of Bolivia’s female wrestlers in “The Wrestling Cholita.” “MountainFilm has been a vital component of our events calendar for the past 15 years,” said Andrew Czarnecki, managing director of resort operations for St. Joe Club & Resorts. “The support of this community and film enthusiasts alike make the festival stronger each year. We look forward to continuing this tradition for many more years to come.” Delta Air Lines and Visit South Walton are premier sponsors of the annual outdoor festival, which will once again incorporate Kidz Kino, a mini-festival for attendees ages 6-12 that features kid-friendly films at the WaterColor BoatHouse. WEDNESDAY: 30A Radio Hosts Flood Benefit at The Hub 30A

30A Radio, La Dolce Vita 30A and The Hub 30A present The New Mastersounds in concert, benefitting the victims of flooding in Louisiana. Titled FUNK4LA, this free concert will take place October 19, from 7:30 to 9: 30 p.m., at The Hub. About 50 VIP chairs and a few couch VIP areas will be available for purchase with all proceeds going to the Baton Rouge Area Foundation to help Louisiana flood victims. Portions of every purchase of food or beverages will also benefit the foundation’s flood relief fund. From their inception nearly two decades ago in Leeds, UK, The New Mastersounds have wholeheartedly embraced the “old school” label — their sound is rooted deeply in those classic soul jazz, boogaloo and funk albums on labels such as Blue Note and Prestige by artists like Wes Montgomery, Jimmy Smith, Jimmy McGriff and Lou Donaldson. The New Mastersounds’ latest LP, The Nashville Session, takes that devotion one step further by recording in the same tradition that many of those rare groove gems were made.
