WCSO and FWC Respond to Animal Attack on Eglin Property

Walton County, Fla— On Tuesday May 31, 2016 at 8:12am Walton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a woman possibly attacked by an animal on Eglin property. Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of 8866 U.S Highway 331 South along with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The victim was transported by Walton County EMS with non-life threatening injuries. There is no confirmation at this time as to the type of species involved in the attack. However, Florida Fish and Wildlife have confirmed they have ruled out the possibility of a bear.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office would like to ask residents to please be aware of the situation and make proper precautions.
