Rosemary Beach Foundation recently announced its 12th Annual Girls Getaway event, to benefit Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast and their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) expansion. The Family Birth Place at Sacred Heart now delivers over 1,200 babies per year and the new 10-bed Level II NICU, scheduled to open in early 2018, will bring specialized care to the smallest patients.

The Girls Getaway will take place Thursday, February 2, through Sunday, February 5, throughout venues in Rosemary Beach, and provides a fun-filled alternative for women during Super Bowl Weekend.

This year’s theme is “Let the Good Times Roll,” or as they say in New Orleans, “Laissez les bons temps rouler!”

Ladies have enjoyed coming for this weekend in Rosemary Beach from all over, including Destin, Santa Rosa Beach, Panama City, Tallahassee, Atlanta, Houston, Indianapolis, and Nashville. The event is open to all who wish to join with other women for fun and celebration.

One such participant is Julie Johnson from Tennessee, who has attended Girls Getaway for many years.

“One of the things I particularly like about the event is that is multi-generational,” said Julie.

You see mothers with their grown daughters, sisters, cousins and in-laws, all coming together to really enjoy the weekend and each other’s company. You can’t help but appreciate your own sweet family and friends when you are around so many other women who appreciate theirs,” she said.

Girls Getaway has become a time that many women cherish and it’s a time for them to come together with old and new friends. “Many friendships are formed during the weekend,” said Malayne DeMars, executive director for the Rosemary Beach Foundation.
