HOME INVASION SUSPECT ARRESTED IN WALTON COUNTY AFTER ESCAPING ALABAMA FACILITY

Santa Rosa Beach, Fla- An Opp man who escaped a health facility in Alabama is behind bars in Walton County, Florida after deputies located him along with a stolen vehicle.

Reese Lee Prevatt, 33, escaped the Crenshaw Community Hospital South Wing Facility Monday night. Following his escape, Prevatt broke into a residence in Luverne, Alabama and stole a white Kia sedan along with money, a watch and other valuables.

Tuesday morning at 7:30 deputies responded to a parked car with front-end damage at State Road 395 and U.S. Highway 98. When deputies arrived they noticed a smell of alcohol on the male subject standing outside the vehicle and noticed multiple cans of Four Loco in the vehicle. The man, later identified as Prevatt, did not have any identification. After running the car’s license plate the vehicle came back as stolen out of Alabama.

Prevatt was subsequently arrested for grand theft and possession of stolen property. He was transported without incident and booked into the Walton County. The investigation is ongoing.
