Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton counties have released their recommended trick or treating hours for Halloween on Oct. 31.

If residents wish to participate, city officials said to remember to switch on the front porch lights and, of course, have plenty of candy.

The recommended hours are as follows:

Crestview: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. DeFuniak Springs: 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Destin: No recommended hours Fort Walton Beach: No recommended hours Freeport: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mary Esther: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Niceville: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Shalimar: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Unincorporated Okaloosa County: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Valparaiso: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Hours recommended by city governments and law enforcement officials.
