DESTIN — The city of Destin announced Tuesday it would be closing restrooms at four city parks until further notice due to freezing cold temperatures.

The parks are June White Decker, Shores at Crystal Beach, Clement Taylor and the Joe’s Bayou boat launch.

The city is shutting off water to the facilities to prevent freezing pipes, according to city spokesman Doug Rainer.

A hard freeze warning was issued for Northwest Florida, including Destin, by the National Weather Service on Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to dip into the 20s overnight Tuesday and Wednesday, with a wintry mix possible early Wednesday morning. The hard freeze warning is in effect until Thursday at 9 a.m.
