Every great community has special people and businesses supporting it and South Walton certainly has its share. In fact, it seems South Walton is full of wonderful people contributing to and helping develop this incredibly dynamic lifestyle we all enjoy. It’s been two years now since the first edition of South Walton Life hit the mailboxes of Santa Rosa Beach.

Boy, time flies. It seems like yesterday that  Ray Cyr and Sarah Stewart and David White produced the first edition. The vision was to be the “communities’ voice.” Beginning with our first edition, we welcomed reader and community participation; we asked for contributions and stories that truly uplifted the community and promoted all that is good about living in South Walton. Two years later, we are amazed at how our community has responded. Each and every week, we hear how appreciated this new concept of a monthly, community publication has become.

South Walton Life endeavors to fill its its pages with colorful pictures and informative information that build and enrich the area we’ve come to call home. Yes, in South Walton, perhaps like no other area, you can be from Nashville, New York, California, Nebraska – even Boston! Yet here, we’re all “locals.” Everyone, from the uber wealthy to the clerks at Walmart, is welcome.

We’ve learned that promoting positive, “good” news is a great marketing strategy. Good news is not hard to find if you look for it. And, each month, the stories seem to write themselves. Newcomers quickly sense there’s something different here; there’s a spirit that is quite unique, perhaps like no other. It’s hard to put into words, other than to say, “it’s easier to check your cynicism at the county line” than resist the unique blend of southern charm and intense entrepreneurial spirit that is “South Walton Life.”

We are so thankful for this community and how the community has responded: the businesses for staying faithful; the readers for supporting our advertisers; and the many, many community residents that have contributed such meaningful, uplifting articles. South Walton Life is truly a reflection of the community it serves.

Thank you all for being a part of creating South Walton Life with us.We love you all!
