One of the most exciting aspects of working for Rockwell Tharp is having the privilege and honor to be able to travel to all corners of the world and personally hand select the materials to make your boots and handbags. Coming up with a design and bringing it to fruition in a step by step process is a tremendous satisfaction for us.

As we have officially entered into boot season, we are taking the opportunity to share how our boots are actually made. You get a sneak peek into our factories, behind the scenes to see a bit of the process that goes into ensuring we deliver you a high quality, hand crafted boot.

Each boot is 100% handmade and extremely lightweight.  Over the past 10 years we have worked on development to insure our Ladies have a comfortable boot or shoe to wear.  Some of the neatest features of our boots are the back zippers with an engraved Bible verse, heel to toe foot padding, a variety of heel choices, and of course, our trademark unique leathers, patterns and styles!

We start planning the design of our boots anywhere from 6 months to 1 year out.  We are extremely hands on. If you own a pair of Rockwell Tharp Boots, you can pretty much be guaranteed that we personally picked your leather or textile from one of the many countries that we travel to.  We make a point to plan extensive design trips several times a year that take us to multiple countries across the world to search for the most unique looks in order to create beautiful, artistic and fabulous styles.

Some boots we design through a formal process, while some are culturally inspired and developed right on location.  The fun part is there are no rules or limitations- One never knows.. Your boots may have been designed on a paper napkin on a long flight to Europe or South America!  We rely heavily on both internal and external inspiration. Our main goal is to come up with looks and styles that are unique and different than what everyone else has.  If you are a Lady that likes to have something outstanding, special and authentic that has been designed by locals with great passion and enthusiasm, then we are a good fit for you!

Our travels to produce the boots have some of the most remarkable and amazing stories behind them.  Every design trip is an adventure on its own and we are bringing those stories right here to you in Sandestin!  The boutique in Sandestin is the only store in the United States where you can view and purchase the entire collection at one location.  Additionally, it is the only store where the owners are often onsite and can personally assist with special requests and customizations. This is really quite special for The Emerald Coast and it’s all because we live here!

At Rockwell Tharp, we hope that wearing our boots is a joy and experience for you. We believe our boots will help reveal beauty, confidence, excitement and passion.
