MULTI-AGENCY PURSUIT ENDS IN WALTON COUNTY; DEPUTIES SEARCHING FOR SUSPECT ON FOOT

WALTON COUNTY, Fla— Multiple law enforcement agencies are currently searching for a suspect in the area of Stewart Road in Paxton who led law enforcement officers on a pursuit through four counties.

The incident began after William M. Harrison, Jr. gave a false name during a traffic stop on Johnson Lake Road in Holmes County.

Harrison, Jr. fled through Holmes County, then Walton, Geneva, and Covington Counties before returning to Walton County where he abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot.

Sheriff’s deputies with Holmes and Walton County, Florida and Geneva and Covington County, Alabama and officers from Florala Police Department are currently assisting in the search.

Harrison has multiple warrants out of Holmes County and Georgia.

K-9 tracking teams from Holmes and Walton Correctional have been dispatched to the scene on Stewart Road to assist in searching for Harrison.
