From Santa’s grand arrival on a shrimp boat in Apalachicola to an enthralling rendition of the Nutcracker designed for the youngest of audiences in Port St. Joe, there are so many fun ways to welcome the holidays on the Forgotten Coast. Forgotten Coast Festival of Trees

Sponsored by the Joe Center for the Arts and the Forgotten Coast Cultural Coalition, the 3rd Annual Forgotten Coast Festival of the Trees returns to the gallery with a winter wonderland of beautifully decorated trees, wreaths, and displays of holiday collections. Come experience the wonder and magic of the holiday season!


Apalachicola Historic Downtown Christmas Celebration
Riverfront Park | Apalachicola

November 26th | 4PM to 8PM

Presented by the Apalachicola Bay Chamber of Commerce, the Apalachicola Downtown Christmas Celebration is an old-fashioned Christmas celebration with the historic streets lined with luminaries and the town filled with holiday spirit. Merchants will be open late, and the sounds of carolers will echo through the streets. Santa will arrive via shrimp boat at 4PM at Riverfront Park.


Lighting of the Palms
St. George Island Lighthouse | St. George Island

December 3rd | 5:30PM to 8:30PM

The St. George Island Business Association along with the St. George Lighthouse Association and the St. George Island Visitor Center will host the annual St. George Island Lighting of the Palms. Santa will be onsite to visit with children, and each child will receive a gift and a book. Enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, and much much holiday fun!


Holiday Fresh Market

Find unique, handcrafted gifts for friends and family at Apalachicola’s annual, open-air Holiday Fresh Market held in historic downtown. Browse wares of all types including baked goods, artwork, wood carving, pottery, jewelry, and hand-knitted goods at this one-of-a-kind Holiday Fresh Market.


Christmas in the Garden
Port St. Joe Garden Center | Port St. Joe

Find unique handmade gifts, baked goods, Forgotten Coast holiday décor, and more at Christmas in the Garden by the Port St. Joe Garden Club. A professional photographer will be onsite to capture family and pet portraits in the decorated gazebo during this festive and fun event!


Junior Service League of PSJ Presents The Nutcracker

Enjoy the enthralling holiday tale of The Nutcracker, presented by the Junior League of Port. St. Joe. A Forgotten Coast Christmas tradition since 2015, this classic story is told using Tchaikovsky’s music, pantomime, and dance. The show is one hour long with free admission for all children.


Christmas on the Coast
Holiday Parade
Reid Avenue | Port St. Joe
December 11th | 6PM

Join us for the annual Christmas on the Coast Parade on Reid Avenue on Saturday, December 11th at 6PM. Floats will be judged in the following categories: Schools & Non-Profit, Family & Friends, Business, and Faith Based. After the parade be sure to visit Santa in the Gazebo next to City Hall.


Holiday on the Harbor & Boat Parade of Lights

December 11th | 11AM to 7:30PM

A beloved Christmas tradition for not only the Carrabelle community but the entire Forgotten Coast! Enjoy live music while doing some holiday shopping with downtown merchants and festival vendors from 11AM to 6PM. Find many kids activities including the opportunity to visit with Santa! At dark, watch the Boat Parade of Lights along the Carrabelle River with a fireworks finale show.


Christmas Carols at the Cape San Blas Lighthouse
George Core Park | Port St. Joe
150 Captain Fred’s Place
December 20th 5PM – 6PM

Gather around the Cape San Blas Lighthouse at George Core Park for a fun evening of caroling, perfect for getting in the holiday spirit! In addition, there will be a Ukulele Band playing festive music and Josie’s Joe Coffee Truck. Bring a blanket or jacket to keep warm!
