This course will introduce students to the concept of cybersecurity for personal devices, Internet, email and social media usage. This course will help the student understand the problem of security in a cyber-world, how to mitigate risks, respond to intrusions and be prepared in the event of a disaster. In this course we will discuss how to protect individual computers and personal networks from cyber-attacks and how to respond should an attack occur. Technology and software for the protection of cyber-attacks will be demonstrated, and the use of off-site backups and cloud infrastructure will be detailed.
