A. Gary Walsingham Academy is committed to offering students unique learning opportunities that are relevant, meaningful, and have a direct correlation to the real world. We believe this is a vital element for increasing student motivation, empowering students to take ownership of their learning, and igniting a passion for exploration. Our teachers are dedicated to providing rigorous and engaging instruction while maintaining a positive school culture in which students feel loved, welcomed, and safe.

Teachers at Walsingham Academy collaborate with all stakeholders including parents, colleagues, and community members in order to meet the needs of every learner on campus. Analyzing data to determine specific areas of improvement or enrichment, and then using research-based strategies to deliver instruction are the foundations of what we do academically at Walsingham. In addition to the core subjects, we also place an emphasis on teaching core values and building positive relationships with students. The Walsingham Way is focused on treating others right, making smart decisions, and maximizing potential.

Our theme this year at Walsingham Academy is “Making Waves, The Wahoo Way.” We are providing students opportunities to think outside the box, encouraging them to be curious about the world around them, and motivating them to take action to change our world for the better. Our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics), Music, and Enrichment programs are helping students expand their experiences beyond the walls of the classroom. In STEAM, students are using their science knowledge to engineer various projects using a variety of mediums, as well as learning how to use 21st-century technology to design digital artifacts. Students are expanding their audience and competing for community recognition in various contests and community projects. Selected by the Public Art Committee, Walsingham will have SeeLife 2 Project sculptures displayed outside two Panama City Beach businesses. Artwork submitted by two of our first graders was selected by Wonder Works as winners of this year’s FLO Art Contest. Giving back to our community is another priority for our young students. We value our Partners in Education and love to find ways to pay it forward. Our Wahoos community projects include creating cards for Veterans, participating in local food drives, creating artwork for the Youth Art Month Banners, and conducting musical performances for our community.

We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of our young Wahoos. Our students are flourishing academically, socially, and artistically. As our school continues to grow, we will continue to empower our students for success with an unwavering focus on meeting the needs of each and every student we serve.
