Walton County, Fla— A wanted felon is behind bars after fleeing from deputies in DeFuniak Springs Tuesday morning.

Just after 9:00 AM, Walton County dispatchers received a call from a witness stating they saw Brian Timothy Grant, 36, who was wanted for two felony warrants and one misdemeanor warrant, walking down Coy Burgess Loop. Deputies responded to the area and saw Grant who fled into the woods nearby.

Walton County Sheriff’s Office deputies set up a perimeter and phone alerts were sent to residents in the surrounding area giving a description of the suspect and advising everyone in the area to stay indoors until the suspect was captured. Walton County Correctional K9 Unit was called to assist in the manhunt.

A Walton CI K9 found Grant hiding in shrubbery about a half a mile away from where he originally fled on Mossy Lane. Brian Timothy Grant was arrested for felony failure to appear, misdemeanor failure to appear and felony bond revocation and was transported to Walton County Jail.
