Hurricane Watch is in effect for the Anclote River to Destin, Florida

Tropical Storm Hermine has formed off the Gulf coast and is headed for Florida.

At 4 p.m. Wednesday, the center of storm was about 350 miles west-southwest of Tampa.

Maximum sustained winds were sitting at 45 mph with higher gusts.

A Hurricane Watch is in effect for the Anclote River to Destin, Florida.

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect from the Anclote River to Destin, Florida.

A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued from Marineland, Florida to Altamaha Sound, Georgia.

Hermine is moving toward the north-northeast near 7 mph (11 km/h), and this motion with an increase in forward speed is expected to continue through Thursday.  On the forecast track, the center will be near the coast in the warning area Thursday night.

Additional strengthening is forecast during the next 36 hours, and Hermine could be near hurricane strength by the time landfall occurs.
