MountainFilm on Tour returns to WaterColor Resort Nov. 4-5, 2016. Celebrate the 16th Annual Film Festival at the beautiful WaterColor Resort in South Walton, Florida with two days of extraordinary films created to inspire courage, thought and empathy. WaterColor Resort hosts the film festival each fall under the trees in Marina Park. The festival features an eclectic mix of captivating films in an outdoor setting that enhances the bold imagery of these remarkable stories. Tickets are available online or at the door. 

Adventure, life lessons and environmental messages brand this tour as an International quest to encourage change and education through striking imagery and stories of perseverance. WaterColor Resort offers an outdoor setting for these moving films with a starry backdrop to enhance the unfolding clips of thought provoking films.

Festival gates open at 6:00 p.m. Films begin at 7:00 p.m. Selections of festival fare, wine and beer will be available for purchase. Join Eco Tour Guide Karl Renelt, a certified Master Naturalist, for a paddle on Western Lake on Saturday, November 5 at 11 AM. Guests can bring a board or rent a board, kayak or canoe at the WaterColor BoatHouse.

The annual Flutterby Festival returns to Rosemary Beach Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 12 & 13, from 10am-4pm. Flutterby Festival celebrates the arts and the migration of the Monarch Butterfly along Scenic Highway 30A. Flutterby is a childrens arts festival... it's a place for kids to flitter! This is a beautiful fall tradition in South Walton.  

As part of the annual tradition, children create their own butterfly wing masterpieces to wear in the butterfly costume parade each afternoon. Kids will also enjoy using their creativity to build other butterfly crafts. Celebrating art and nature, hundreds of butterfly paintings created by Walton County students will be on display throughout the festival.

The Flutterby Festival is a fun event for kids of all ages. The event schedule to be announced soon. Watch SoWal.com home page for all the scoop for this year's festival in Rosemary Beach. Admission to the Flutterby Festival is free, although some activities may require a small fee.

Supporting the arts in Walton County’s schools is at the core of Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County's mission. This children's arts event showcases the talent of our local students at the Flutterby Festival, celebrates their artistic expression and creativity, and helps raise funds that will go back into their classrooms through educational grants.
