GULF BREEZE — Gulf Islands National Seashore 2017-18 Waterfowl Hunting Permits are now available, according to a press release.
There is a $25.00 application fee that must be paid when each application is submitted. Applicants are encouraged to apply and pay online.
Applications are available online at https://www.nps.gov/guis/planyourvisit/waterfowl-hunting-regulations.htm. All hunters in the park must carry a valid Waterfowl Hunting Permit that has been signed by a park official and contains a permit number. Hunters must also carry their State of Florida hunting license, State of Florida Migratory Bird Permit, signed federal “Duck Stamp” and confirmation number from their Migratory Bird Harvest Information Program.
Those wishing to apply and pay in person may do so at park headquarters in Gulf Breeze. Applications and payment will be accepted Tuesdays between 7:30 am and 10:00 am & Thursdays between 2:00 pm and 4:30 pm only. Cash payment will not be accepted, and checks are discouraged.
In accordance with the Superintendent’s Compendium waterfowl hunting is permitted in the national seashore during the corresponding state hunting season, but is limited to two marine areas in Florida. These areas are identified on the waterfowl hunting permit. No other hunting is permitted within the boundary of Gulf Islands National Seashore.
