A Milton man was killed Friday when a car pulled into the path of his motorcycle at an intersection in Escambia County.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol press release, 23-year-old Josef Martens was traveling east on U.S. Highway 90A on a 2005 Honda CBR600 sport bike when a car driven by James Elliott, 73, of Loxley, Alabama, pulled into his path from a stop sign at Bridlewood Road.
The motorcycle struck the right rear passenger door on Elliott’s 2016 Hyundai Sonata. Martens, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 11:57 a.m. fatal collision.
Alcohol was not related to the crash, which remains under investigation.
