How can farmers and ranchers ensure that consumers understand these labels and have confidence in the safety and quality of their food?”

Walton High School sophomores Shelbee Castrillo and Cheyanne Cordle placed first and second, while Freeport High School student Jenna Martin placed third.

The Eglin Elementary School physical education department holds its Turkey Run Tuesday through Thursday, providing the students an opportunity to earn their second toe token. Parents and guardians may participate with their students in the run.

Also on Tuesday, the cafeteria hosts its annual Thanksgiving lunch. Parents and guardians may join their students. Adult lunches cost $4.

Antioch Elementary School fifth-graders open the school’s spelling bee today. Second-graders spell on Tuesday, followed by fourth-graders Wednesday and third-graders Thursday. First-graders show their skills Friday.

Art teacher Sally Reagan took her Choctawhatchee High School students to the Mattie Kelly Student Collaborative Exhibition, with Giovanni Caballero placing first in the competition with his linoleum printmaking piece, “Can’t we just let a rosebush be a rosebush?”

Other participants included Blythe Bay, Jacey Davies, Amaya Harris, George Hass, Jade Hornbaker, Carrianne Kelly, Destiny McCorkel, Sara Petermann, Chasity Rose, Alyssa Sehman and Jessica Vansteenbergen.
