Amazon is trying to capitalize on the specialty TV programming with the end of Game of Thrones coming to HBO. They have just signed a multi season production commitment to create a TV show based off “The Lord of the Rings.” Before you freak out…they are NOT remaking the highly successful movie trilogy. The show, which has no cast, plot, or premiere date, will take place either between The Hobbit and LOTR or before The Hobbit. I personally hope we see the forging of the rings and the great battle with Sauron but we all know how that ends…

I think with the battles and the different people all working together…this is the obvious way to go and the best filler for a Game of Thrones-less world.
