Pedestrian killed in collision with F-150

PACE — A pedestrian was struck and killed on Wednesday night while he was trying to cross the road about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Robert Eugene Crowe, 51, of Milton, was traveling in the outside eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 90 near the Pace Lane intersection when he struck Charles Ronald Owens, 77, also of Milton, who was trying to cross the road, according to a release by Florida Highway Patrol.

Owens failed to see the Ford F-150 driven by Crowe and was struck by the front of the vehicle, the report said.

Alcohol was not a factor, accroding to FHP. Charges are pending.
