Early morning incident at #31 H Alder Avenue SE has left local man hospitalized following surgery.

Fort Walton Beach Police Department is requesting public assistance concerning an early morning domestic shooting that has left a man hospitalized.

According to a press release from Jo Soria, public information officer for the city of Fort Walton Beach, officers responded to a shooting call at #31 H Alder Avenue SE just after 2 a.m. Sunday.

On scene it was discovered that 32-year-old Clarence Smiley of Fort Walton Beach had sustained a gunshot wound. He was transported to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center where he was last known to be in stable condition and undergoing surgery, according to the release.

Investigators determined that the shooting was an isolated domestic incident and remains under investigation.
