Avantgarde Salon Spa Cut-A-Thon for Hurricane Michael Relief Raises $3000
After seeing the devastation created by Hurricane Michael, Avantgarde Salon Spa in Destin, Florida teamed up with Wes Herndon and Steve Burnett of Preserving South Walton, a 501(c)(3) for a ‘Cut-A-Thon’ on October 28, 2018 at their Shoppes of Destiny location. The all-day event raised money for families affected by the Hurricane. Avantgarde Salon Spa provided haircuts, braids, chair massages, and brow waxes with a minimum donation of $10. Gulf Coast Go, who donated a trolley for the event, was there to “Load the Trolley” with supplies to take to our neighbors to the east. Avantgarde Salon Spa had over 20 service providers volunteering and the event raised $3000. The funds will be used by Preserving South Walton to purchase more supplies to continue to help those who were affected by Hurricane Michael.
