Planning a February visit to 30A? Two of our favorite festivals help make it a great month to visit South Walton. Gumbo lovers can get their fill at the popular Sandestin Gumbo Festival while wine aficionados can connect at the 30A Wine Festival.
Known as one of the largest and most popular winter food events along the Northwest Florida Coast, the Sandestin Gumbo Festival returns to the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort February 14th and 15th, 2020. Light roux, dark roux, seafood, sausage or chicken, sample gumbo from some of the area’s best chef’s and then vote for your favorite for the coveted “People’s Choice Award.”
The weekend kicks off with a seafood boil at Hammerhead’s Bar and Grill on Friday followed by the main event on Saturday. Held at the Village of Baytowne Wharf, the fun-filled day includes live music from Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe, family activities, a Bloody Mary competition and the “best gumbo cook-off on the Gulf Coast.”

Then, the ninth annual 30A Wine Festival returns to the picturesque community of Alys Beach Wednesday, February 19 through Sunday, February 23, 2020. This five-day celebration showcases renowned vintners and beloved culinary personalities while benefiting the Children’s Volunteer Health Network.
On Thursday, the festival begins with “Oysters & Champagne” in Central Park hosted by Garden & Gun. Friday’s “Bourbon, Beer & Butts” brings a lively evening of music, bourbon and beer tasting that features some of the country’s best pitmasters, distillers and craft brewers. Saturday features wine tasting seminars followed by the grand tasting all along the beautiful streets of the community. Cap off the weekend with “Rosé & Croquet,” a lighthearted celebration on Sunday with rosé tastings, a delicious brunch and the beloved croquet tournament.
