The local community showed an overwhelming amount of support towards the effort to make the dream of Destin High School become a reality, raising nearly $400,000 in cash donations for the school. DHS Founders are certain the new high school will benefit families, businesses, and community stakeholders throughout Okaloosa County.
Dr. Prebble Ramswell, President of the DHS Governing Board, said in a recent press release about the grand opening, “After a five-year journey dedicated to opening a high school in Destin, our Board is beyond excited to have this community dream become a reality. We are thrilled to see the doors about to open! Of course, none of this would have happened without the support of the community and we thank them.”
