October brings cooler temperatures, plenty of sunshine, and lots of festivals to the Forgotten Coast! Whether you’re local and looking for something to do or planning a trip to explore this special coast, there’s fun to be found from Port St. Joe to St. George Island.

City of Wewahitchka Fall Festival
October 2nd | 9AM to 4PM
111 Lake Alice Park Dr
Head to the city of Wewahitchka for some downhome fall flavored fun with the annual Fall Festival featuring arts, crafts, and food vendors around beautiful Lake Alice. Lake Alice Park features water access, picnic tables, trails, playground, and more.
Porch Fest Apalach
October 2nd
Apalachicola | Trinity Episcopal Church
The inaugural event of Apalachicola’s grassroots community music festival — where front porches become stages, yards become venues, and radical generosity and good will rule the day! This event will highlight nine local performers, each on different porches, at staggered times, throughout Apalachicola neighborhoods. The event begins at noon on the steps of Trinity Episcopal Church and ends with a wrap up party on the porch of the Historic Gibson Inn.
St. James Bay Oktoberfest
October 1st
Carrabelle | St. James Bay
The St. James Bay Oktoberfest-themed Fall Festival kicks off with the Tate’s Hell 5K and fun for the whole family! Taste craft beers, listen to live music, eat German food (or seafood), bid on local art and services, or just hang out at the outdoor pavilion! Proceeds for all events go to Franklin County Senior Center in Carrabelle.
Women’s Adventure Film Tour
October 2nd | 7PM
Windmark Beach
Grab a blanket or a low back chair and head to the Windmark Beach Village center for a night of inspiring women’s adventure films under the stars. The Women’s Adventure Film Tour celebrates the extraordinary things women are doing in the name of adventure.
Pink Out!
October 8th | 6PM to 9PM
St. George Island | Paddy’s Raw Bar
The 9th Annual PINK OUT! at Paddy’s Raw Bar will consist of a delicious dinner, Oyster City beer, the MR. PINK OUT Pageant, live music, and much more! This is an outside event with plenty of room to spread out. 100% of all proceeds from the PINK OUT! go to Franklin Needs Inc., which helps provide free mammograms, testing up to diagnosis, and aid in treatment transportation for Franklin County residents.
Apalach Oktoberfest
October 8th – 10th
Apalachicola | Oyster City Brewing Company
Enjoy a weekend full of live music and tasty brews at this year’s event at Oyster City Brewing Company on Friday, Saturday at High Five Dive Bar, and back to Oyster City Brewing Company on Sunday. Wear your German garb, and commemorative liter mugs will be available to fill with delicious OCBC beer all three days!
Forgotten Coast Music Festival
October 9th – 10th
Port St. Joe | George Core Park
The 3rd Annual Forgotten Music Festival will highlight a variety of outstanding music from amazing artists in beautiful George Core Park by the St. Joseph Bay. Line-up includes Albert Castiglia, Jose Ramirez, Billy the Kid & the Regulators, and the David Julia Band.
Blast on the Bay Songwriters Festival
October 14th – 17th
Mexico Beach to Indian Pass
The popular Blast on the Bay Songwriters Festival returns with over 40 hit songwriters singing and telling their story in 10 venues along the coast from Mexico Beach to Indian Pass. Featured 2021 songwriters include Earl Bud Lee, Aaron Barker, Will Nance, and Karen Waldrup.
Fall Bay Day Celebration
October 16th
Port St. Joe | St. Joseph Bay State Buffer Preserve
Enjoy this fun-filled bi-annual event celebrating the St. Joseph Bay State Buffer Preserve with a silent auction, raffle, birding tours, wildlife exhibits, nature/plant exhibits, educational displays, and a low country shrimp boil. Kids activities include face painting, fire demonstration, and special snacks, and there will also be live music and tram tours!
SGI Brewfest
October 16th | 1PM to 4PM
St. George Island | SGI Lighthouse Park
The SGI Brewfest is a one-day beer tasting festival to promote the appreciation of craft beer with festival proceeds benefiting the Franklin County Humane Society. 2021 will be our 5th year. This year’s event features an even broader selection of amazing craft beers, friendly faces and furry friends, and will SELL OUT, so buy your tickets early! All Brewfest attendees must be 21+ including designated drivers. Children and adults under 21 years of age are not permitted at this event.
