September brings great vibes, fun festivities, and plenty of sunshine to the Forgotten Coast with unique events planned from Labor Day weekend to the full moon at the end of the month. Music lovers will enjoy lots of live music while history buffs can visit three Carrabelle museums on Museum Day to learn more about the rich history and people that compose this region. There’s something for everyone!

2023 Florida Scallop, Music & Arts Festival

Featuring the best Arts & Crafts Vendors from the region and incredible food vendors including the BEST SEAFOOD ON THE COAST, the 2023 Florida Scallop, Music & Arts Festival will be held Labor Day Weekend. Music Line-up includes John Del Toro Richardson, Damon Fowler, Memphis Lightning, The Bo Spring Band, and more! This is a TICKETED EVENT.


Pork Off for Pink Out

Pork Off for Pink Out will feature BBQ for a great cause with two new “crowd favorite” competitions added to the mix – Brunswick stew and deviled egg! Enjoy live music, a dunk take, and a guaranteed good time while raising money for Franklin Needs to help to provide free mammograms and more to area residents!


WindMark Beach Music Festival

The 2nd Annual WindMark Beach Music Festival kicks off on Saturday, September 9th from 2PM to 7PM at different locations in the WindMark Beach Village Center. Attendees will be able to stroll while listening to live music from The Krickets, 55 South, Longleaf Drive and Daniel Pratt. This event is FREE and open to the public.


Apalachicola Area Historical Society Heritage Dinner

A longstanding fall tradition, the Heritage Dinner formerly hosted in the Apalachicola Library is now hosted by the Apalachicola Area Historical Society. Join for a fun evening featuring a sumptuous meal and good company. Net proceeds will benefit the Apalachicola Area Historical Society.


Drum Ceremony and Full Moon Event
Crooked River Lighthouse | Carrabelle
September 29th, 2023

Enjoy the opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the glow of the full Harvest Moon or Corn Moon. Paul Eagleheart McGee from the Lipan Apache Tribe will be conducting a Native American drum ceremony during the event.

Celebrate Museum Day in Carrabelle! Museum Day goes beyond getting visitors through museum doors; it shines a spotlight on incredible culture, sciences, innovation, and history exhibits. In honor of this day, Carrabelle History Museum, Camp Gordon Johnston Museum, and Crooked River Lighthouse Keeper’s House Museum will have special activities and exhibits.
