From live music brunch jam sessions with trios and quartets to Holiday Pops featuring Broadway legends and the full Sinfonia Gulf Coast orchestra to the Sinfonia Youth Orchestra performing seasonal favorites, there is a bounty of live music to enjoy this December
Sinfonia Gulf Coast has seven festive family-friendly December concerts perfect for celebrating the season.
Sinfonia Gulf Coast gets into the spirit of the season with a new series: Toast ‘n Jam on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 10:30 a.m. The first “jam” session features the Grammy Award-winning string trio, Time For Three (TF3). Prepare to be blown away by the electrifying sounds of Time for Three (Tf3), the genre-defying classically trained string trio. With their impeccable skills and boundary-pushing musical tastes, Nick Kendall, Charles Yang, and Ranaan Meyer seamlessly blend classical, bluegrass, rock, jazz, and hip-hop into an unforgettable musical experience. Tickets for Toast ‘n Jam are $95 per person and includes valet service, an elegant brunch, Bloody Mary & Mimosa full cash bar.
The excitement continues with Sinfonia’s Main Event of the season is Holiday Pops Featuring Brian Stokes Mitchell on Friday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Convention Center in Destin. Dubbed “the last leading man” by The New York Times, Brian Stokes Mitchell is a two-time Tony Award winner with a versatile career spanning Broadway, television, film, and concerts. Receiving critical acclaim and awards for his performances in Kiss Me, Kate, Man of La Mancha, and Ragtime, Stokes has collaborated with renowned conductors like John Williams and Gustavo Dudamel performing at Carnegie Hall and the White House. Some of you may remember him as Trevor in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Get into the spirit as this A-list star performs holiday classics, Broadway tunes and classic favorites with the Sinfonia Gulf Coast orchestra. Tickets for Holiday Pops range from $30-$75 for adults. Seats at tables of 10 are from $55 per person.
On Saturday, Dec. 9 Sinfonia Gulf Coast presents Seaside Pops. The concert featuring seasonal and pop favorites is at 5 p.m. al fresco in the Seaside Amphitheatre on Central Square in the Town of Seaside. Bring a low-back chair or blanket. Seaside Pops is free and open to the public.
Sinfonia Youth Orchestra and Sinfonia’s Before & After School ensemble players will be showcased during four concerts in December. Sinfonia Youth Orchestra will perform at HarborWalk Village on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. The following weekend on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 3:30 p.m. Sinfonia will showcase players in its Before & After School programs. Then, at 5 p.m. the Sinfonia Youth Orchestra will take the stage at Destin High School. The Holiday concert is a fun and festive annual tradition that showcases the talent of our area’s finest young musicians performing classical selections and seasonal favorites. Sinfonia Gulf Coast education program concerts are free and open to the public.
“What better time of year to come together to celebrate live music than during the holidays?” asks Sinfonia Gulf Coast Music & Artistic Director Demetrius Fuller. “This festive December concert lineup is our season’s greetings to the community that supports us all year.
