The Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation will once again roll out the ruby slippers this winter as it brings back its signature Red Shoe Party, a fundraising event benefiting foster children in Okaloosa and Walton counties.
The cocktail-style celebration is set for Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Old Florida Fish House in Seagrove Beach. The event blends entertainment, dining, and philanthropy, all centered around a theme drawn from The Wizard of Oz — a reminder that “there’s no place like home.”
Inspired by Dorothy’s iconic red shoes, the evening highlights the Foundation’s mission to provide stability, advocacy, and hope for children navigating the foster care system. Organizers say the symbolism resonates deeply with the children served by the organization, many of whom face uncertainty about where they will live and who will speak on their behalf.
Guests are encouraged to wear cocktail attire with a pop of red, whether through shoes or accessories. A Red Shoe Contest will recognize the Sportiest, Most Glamorous, and Most Creative footwear of the night, though participation is optional.
The evening will feature music from DJ V-Train, along with hors d’oeuvres, chef-curated entrée stations, desserts, themed signature cocktails, and a silent auction. Attendees will also hear firsthand stories about how Guardian ad Litem programs impact children in foster care throughout the two counties.
“For the children we serve, stability and belonging are not guaranteed, and that’s why this event matters so deeply,” said Virginia Davis, president of the Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation. “The Red Shoe Party allows our community to come together and wrap these children in support, hope, and compassion.”
Tickets are $150 per person and are available for purchase at nwfgal.org. Organizers recommend securing tickets early, as space is limited.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses and individuals interested in supporting the cause. Sponsorship packages include recognition before, during, and after the event. Those interested can contact Davis at president@nwfgal.org for more information.
Proceeds from the Red Shoe Party directly support the Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation, which works to advocate for abused, abandoned, and neglected children by providing resources, educational support, and life-enriching experiences.
The Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation serves Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton counties, partnering with trained volunteers, child welfare professionals, and the judicial system to ensure children in the court system have a voice and access to critical support.
