EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — Service members and civilians at Eglin Air Force Base took part in a full day of hands-on training designed to strengthen readiness and teamwork during this year’s Warrior Day.

The event brought together 12 teams made up of Airmen, Soldiers, and civilian personnel, all participating in a four-mile ruck march across the installation.

Along the route, teams encountered a series of interactive stations simulating real-world mission scenarios. These stations covered a wide range of operational areas, including security, maintenance, flight line operations, aircraft management, and medical triage.

Participants were challenged with physically and mentally demanding tasks that mirrored conditions they could face in the field. Activities included chopping and splitting wood to start a fire, securing safety wiring, carrying a 100-pound mannequin to simulate casualty evacuation, and donning full chemical and biological protective gear.

Each station was designed to highlight a different aspect of Eglin’s mission, giving participants a broader understanding of the installation’s warfighting capabilities.

“The goal behind these Warrior Day activities is to create a stronger, more resilient, more ready Airman to face the conflicts that occur at any time,” said Chief Master Sgt. Adam Guest.

Officials say the event reinforces the importance of teamwork, adaptability, and readiness across all roles supporting the mission at Eglin.
