Earlier this month, Florosa Elementary School donated $95 to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, which provides scholarships to surviving children of fallen special op forces members. The foundation also offers counseling and immediate financial grants.
The teachers and staff of Florosa paid $5 for a jeans pass, earning the chance to wear jeans during one week.

Several Walton High School students received a pizza party at the Wee Care Park early in November as recognition for completing their first Microsoft Office Specialist certifications.

Freeport schools combined efforts to honor local veterans and active service members on Nov. 9 in the Freeport Middle School gym.
More than 900 students, teachers and community members attended.
Lt. Devin Rushing and Staff Sgt. Monica Garcia provided the keynote speeches.

The “Change for Books” fundraiser hosted by West DeFuniak Elementary School saw grade levels competing as top earners, with the winning grade rewarded by an opportunity to dunk two good sports, Assistant Principal Rodney Free and Resource Officer/Deputy Matthew Key.
The third-grade earned the dunk, raising $238.99 out of a total $883.26.

Math Night at Mossy Head School early in November brought together families and students for a spaghetti dinner and for math activities.

The Rocky Bayou Christian Academy Art Club recognizes its officers: President Mercy Pettis, Vice President Ally Schutz, Secretary/Treasurer Rachel Barnick, Chaplain Gabe Lee and faculty sponsor Dawn Boon.
As community outreach, the club is collecting crayons, coloring books, colored pencils and markers to be delivered to the Children’s Advocacy Center in Niceville.
The school’s Junior Beta Club welcomes its officers: President Ryan Warner, Vice President Jacob Fortenbeery, Secretary Moriah Lynch, Chaplain Caitie Barnes and faculty sponsor Tiffanie Kowalik.
The club collects coin-filled baby bottles to donate to the Good Counsel Mary’s Shelter, Gulf Coast.
Also recognized are Thespian Society officers: President Devon Lewis, Vice President Mercy Pettis, Secretary Mary Brannon, Chaplain Josh Barkman and faculty sponsor Tom Hood.
The group’s community outreach included assisting Stage Crafters with its fall production by providing labor for set builds and by ushering audience members.
