Following is information from the City of Fort Walton Beach concerning trash collection during the holidays:

The City of Fort Walton Beach’s Sanitation offices will be closed on the following days this holiday season:

• Monday, Dec. 25

• Tuesday, Dec. 26 (offices are closed, but some route service will be provided, as listed below)

• Monday, Jan. 1

Garbage Pickup Routes: On these dates, residential garbage service days will shift by one day; if your pickup day is normally Monday, your holiday week garbage pickup will be delayed to Tuesday. If your pickup day is normally Tuesday, your holiday week garbage pickup will be delayed to Wednesday.

Recycling & Yard Waste: Regular recycling schedules will be unaffected by these closures, but there will be no yard waste pickup during the holidays listed above.

Note: This only applies to City of Fort Walton Beach Sanitation customers. Okaloosa County customers: please contact the Okaloosa County Solid Waste Division for information on your holiday pickup schedule.
