NAVARRE BEACH — Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an adult Sunday afternoon.

SRSO Public Information Officer Rich Aloy said the sheriff’s office was called to the scene around 3:30 p.m. after an adult was discovered dead in the parking lot near Juana’s Pagodas and the public boat launch.

Detectives and crime scene investigators were still actively working the scene around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The parking lot is closed off with crime scene tape while the sheriff’s office conducts its investigation.

Aloy said he did not have any further information on the deceased adult. He said it was the beginning of a “long process.”

More information should be available later Monday.
