Seaside School on lockdown as WCSO searches for fugitive

WATERCOLOR — A school has been placed on lockdown as Walton County Sheriff’s Office deputies search for a man in Walton County wanted on multiple felony charges.

According to WCSO, deputies are searching in the area of Watercolor for a suspect identified as Jason Michael Ellis, 39, wanted out of Bay County on felony charges.

While authorities were attempting a traffic stop at Grayton Beach State Park earlier today, the suspect struck a Walton County Deputy Patrol car and fled. He ditched his vehicle on the west end of Watercolor.

He is described as a white male with a beard, blue eyes, wearing a gray shirt, pink shorts, black rimmed eye glasses and a hat. He is possibly on foot or on a bicycle. Air One has been launched. Walton Correctional Institute has K9s on the ground.

Seaside Neighborhood School is currently on lockdown.
