SEASIDE®, Fla. (www.seasidefl.com), Sept. 21, 2016 – The holiday town of Seaside is calling Northwest Florida area dancers, ages 8-18, to audition for the 5th Annual SEASIDE® Nutcracker. Auditions will be held Sunday, Oct. 2, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Seaside Assembly Hall located across the lawn from the Seaside Neighborhood School (168 Smolian Circle, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459). Dancers wanting to audition can download the Nutcracker Audition Form at www.seasidefl.com/highlights/ and should email the completed form to showard@seasidefl.com and bring the form to auditions, Sunday, October 2, from 2 – 3 p.m. at the Seaside Assembly Hall.
The Seaside Nutcracker will be directed and choreographed by Ballet Pensacola’s renowned artistic director Richard Steinert. Seleta Howard, Seaside Nutcracker ballet mistress, will be conducting rehearsals each Thursday from 4-5 p.m. until the performance. A rehearsal schedule will be made available at auditions and all rehearsals are required.
The one-time performance of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker in Seaside is scheduled for Saturday, November 19, 2016, and will feature Acts I & II. The performance is free and open to the public.
A costume rental fee and pre-registration is required. Applicants wanting to reserve a spot for auditions should email showard@seasidefl.com by Friday, Sept. 30.
