Walton Area Chamber of Commerce set to host Nonprofit Mingle
In staying true to its mission of connecting local businesses to the community, the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Hive Creative Consulting and the SoWal Community Chaplain, is set to bring the nonprofit organizations of Walton county and members of the local business community together on August 29 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for a Nonprofit Mingle at the South Walton Boys and Girls Club.
“There are so many resources and incredibly worthy non-profit organizations in this area,” said Emily Proctor, the SoWal Community Chaplain. “And, I find that people often struggle with finding the best way to reach out to get help or get involved.”
This sparked the idea to host an event with the Walton Area Chamber to allow nonprofits in the area the chance to expose themselves to businesses and individuals in the community.
“Whether you are looking to volunteer, donate, or need assistance, this will be a great place to come learn more about the work these nonprofits do in our community,” said Megan Harrison, CEO of the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce.
Proctor started the SoWal Community Chaplain as a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting those who live and visit South Walton County with the resources they need as well as providing pastoral care to those who may not be associated with a local church.
“The Hive has had the pleasure of working with many nonprofits and we have seen firsthand the passion and determination behind the people that are making waves in our community. It is a pleasure to provide this platform for them to show not only the community what they are doing but each other,” said Erin Bakker of The Hive Creative Consulting.
Admission to the Nonprofit Mingle is 10 dollars for members and 15 dollars for non-members. The Walton Area Chamber of Commerce encourages all nonprofits to get involved. It’s 50 dollars to secure a space as a nonprofit member of the Chamber and 100 dollars for organizations that are not members.
