Six Main Stage Productions, Three Theatre for Young & Very Young Audiences Productions, One 10 Year Celebration and More to Come

Miramar Beach, Fla. With its 10th anniversary season Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) presents six professional main stage productions, three Theatre for Young (and Very Young) Audiences, plus a special Year 10 Celebration — 10 reasons (and counting) to escape to the theater to have a laugh and be entertained.

“Season 10 marks a major milestone and a new era of growth for Emerald Coast Theatre Company,” says ECTC co-founder and producing artistic director Nathanael Fisher. “During our first decade we thrived because our community gathered around us and supported us. We are excited about offering children and adults even more opportunities to get engaged in our tribe and experience the comradery and joy of live theater.”

ECTC’s professional 2022-2023 Professional Mainstage productions includes six sensational offerings: a musical comedy classic, a holiday musical comedy, a Broadway comedy, a romantic dramatic musical, a dramatic comedy and a family musical.

ECTC’s season lineup includes the return of a robust roster of Special Events featuring Cabaret Revues in the “listening lounge,” the StoryTeller series, comedy nights and more. The full line up of Special Event offerings will be announced at a later date.

All professional production schedules are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with Sunday and Wednesday matinees at 2:30 p.m. (unless noted otherwise). All ECTC productions will be staged at ECTC’s space located upstairs at 560 Grand Boulevard in Grand Boulevard Town Center, located in Miramar Beach, Florida.

Save the date of Friday, September 16 for a special Year 10 Celebration. Mark the 10th anniversary milestone with the ECTC tribe at a festive fun-raiser. Enjoy a special evening of entertainment, food and fun with ECTC friends and fans. Details to come.

The Professional Main Stage Productions are as follows:

“Godspell” Mainstage Musical Comedy Sept. 23-Oct 2 Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sundays at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday Sept 28 at 2:30 p.m.

Join Jesus and His disciples as they recount the greatest story ever told. Timeless songs such as “Day by Day” and “Prepare Ye” shine a light on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. At times funny and poignant, this beautiful show dissolves hauntingly into The Last Supper and Crucifixion while Jesus’ message of kindness and love comes vibrantly to life.

“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical” Mainstage Holiday Musical December 8-18 Thursday-Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Sundays at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec 14 at 2:30 p.m.

The Herdmans are the worst kids in the history of the world–so when they crash Sunday school and demand parts in the Christmas pageant, the whole town panics. There’s not supposed to be biting or cigar-smoking in Bethlehem and soon everyone is calling for reluctant director Grace Bradley to cancel the whole thing. It’s now up to the Bradleys to help the community see the Herdman kids through new eyes in this buoyant musical adaptation of the funny and touching holiday classic.

“The Odd Couple” Mainstage Comedy January 20-29 Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Sundays at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 2:30 p.m.

Clash of the Titans has nothing on Oscar and Felix. When Oscar the slob and fastidious Felix decide to room together, hilarity ensues as the two have a showdown of epic proportions. A Broadway classic that never goes out of style, “The Odd Couple” is non- stop comedy you won’t want to miss.

“The Last Five Years” Cabaret Stage: Dramatic Musical February 10-19 Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30 p.m, Sundays at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 2:30 p.m.

An emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. The show’s unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically. The two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show. With brilliantly intricate music that is both gorgeous and heartbreaking, “The Last Five Years” is a beautifully compelling chronicle in the book of love.

“Steel Magnolias” Mainstage Dramatic Comedy February 24-March 5 Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Sundays at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 1 at 2:30 p.m.

Make an appointment at Truvy’s Beauty Salon and get all the latest gossip from Shelby, M’Lynn, and the rest of the magnolias as they navigate life’s greatest joys and tragedies. Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions, you will find a little piece of yourself in each of the characters. Filled with so much heart and warmth, Steel Magnolias touches on the gentle strength and courage that every woman carries within them as they support each other through the good times and bad.

“The Sound of Music” Mainstage Family Musical May 5-14: Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Sundays at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 10 at 2:30 p.m.
