Slick Lips Seafood and Oyster House to Open Second Location in Pensacola

The owners of Slick Lips Seafood and Oyster House, Bryce and Miranda Jarvis along with Captain Gary Jarvis, Mayor of Destin, will be opening a second location in Pensacola, at 102 South Palafox Street. Located in the Zarzaur Law building complex, Slick Lips Pensacola promises the same fresh seafood and family friendly environment that can be found at the original location, nestled in the heart of the Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin® Golf and Beach Resort. The name “Slick Lips” was chosen from the popular nickname among fisherman for Amberjack who don’t have any teeth. With Gary’s long-time experience as a boat captain and Bryce’s expertise in restaurant management and menu development, Slick Lips was created and developed as a seafood restaurant emphasizing local, sustainable seafood. The fish and seafood featured on the restaurant’s menu are locally caught, brought in fresh off the docks in Destin, and filleted in-house daily. Since opening their doors in 2018, the restaurant has been recognized with numerous awards, including “Best Seafood Restaurant”, “Best Chef”, “Best Oysters”, “Best Bartender”, and “Best Gumbo” by the readers of VIP Destin Magazine. The Pensacola location is currently undergoing a full renovation with brand new floors, finishes, and layout to offer plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options as well as a brand-new oyster bar. “We always knew we wanted to be in the downtown area,” Bryce said. “After finding this space, we’ve been working hard every day to get our doors open as soon as possible so... INVESTIGATORS, MEDICAL EXAMINERS COMPLETE AREA SEARCH OF SKELETAL REMAINS IN MIRAMAR BEACH

INVESTIGATORS, MEDICAL EXAMINERS COMPLETE AREA SEARCH OF SKELETAL REMAINS IN MIRAMAR BEACH Posted on October 21, 2022 October 21, 2022 WALTON COUNTY, Fla— The search where skeletal remains were located in Miramar Beach has been completed by Walton County Sheriff’s Office and the District 1 Medical Examiner’s Office Friday. Investigators responded to the scene Thursday, October 21st when a man clearing a wooded near Leeward Drive discovered a piece of a jaw bone. While conducting an extensive search, a firearm was located within close proximity to the body.   The scene was preserved overnight and additional grid searches were completed Friday morning. The bone fragments have been confirmed by the Medical Examiner to be human. Because of the state and decay of both the bones and the weapon, it appears they have been in the area for a long period of time. “The scene is spread out because of the length of time the bones have been out in the elements,” said Sheriff Michael Adkinson. “Once all the evidence is collected, we will work closely with the Medical Examiner’s office to identify who it is and what may have occurred.”   https://waltonso.org/news/feed/ Read More

Francis was shot after he attempted to evade arrest by shooting at law enforcement while leading them on a high-speed pursuit for over sixty miles. 14-YEAR-OLD EMERALD COAST MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES

14-YEAR-OLD EMERALD COAST MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES Posted on October 18, 2022 October 18, 2022   WALTON COUNTY, Fla— A student from Emerald Coast Middle School is facing felony charges after providing drugs to his friends while on the bus to school. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Deputy was alerted to the incident Tuesday morning shortly after the start of school when a student went to the nurse’s office with side effects consistent with drug use. The VICENarcotics Unit responded to the school. The student was identified and interviewed by deputies with a parent in attendance. The teen admitted to bringing cannabis, mushrooms, and chips – possibly laced with an unknown substance – to campus. All parents whose children were involved were quickly notified by the School District and have since been removed from school. At this time, there is no evidence any of the mushrooms were consumed – only edibles and chips. It’s believed this instance is isolated to a group of friends and that no other student is involved and that the drugs were acquired off campus. The student was arrested and charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance. At this time, Walton County Sheriff’s Office has chosen not to publish the student’s name on our social media channels due to the lack of criminal history. The safety of our students is of the utmost importance to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office and our partners at the Walton County... Read More
