Soleil to Host The Big Night An Italian Wine Dinner with Chef and Sommelier Michael Sichel

Chef Michael Sichel of Soleil in Destin, Florida is hosting yet another Chef’s Table Wine Dinner, this time focused on wines from Italy. On October 26, 2022 at 6:00 p.m., guests will arrive and be seated at the Chef’s table for a five course dinner – each course paired with an Italian wine. Chef will walk guests through each course, describing the wines and why they were chosen to pair with the dish. The meal will start with the La Marca Prosecco from Piemonte with Grapes & Prosciutto – served family style. The second course will feature a Pinot Grigio from Friuli paired with Antipasto served family style. The third course of Crab Risotto will be paired with Nozzo d’Oro from Sicily. The next course is the Rosso del Conte from Sicily, served with Pasta Bolognese and salad served family style. The final course features the Barolo 2018 of Piemonte alongside a Ribeye Braciole and Broccoli & Garlic served family style. With the backdrop of the Gulf of Mexico, wine dinner attendees will experience an exquisite evening of fine wine and food in a setting rarely found. DEFUNIAK SPRINGS MAN CONVICTED ON FEDERAL DRUG CHARGES Posted on October 14, 2022 Joseph Flecher Lee, Jr., 47, of DeFuniak Springs, was sentenced on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, to serve a mandatory minimum term of fifteen years in federal prison after pleading guilty to the charges of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. The sentence was announced by Jason R. Coody, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida. On October 14, 2021, law enforcement executed two federal search warrants at Lee’s residence on Mixon Road in DeFuniak Springs. Approximately 466.5 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, and approximately $23,419 in U.S. Currency were located and seized from inside the home. The case resulted from a joint investigation by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office VICE/narcotics unit, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
