Niceville High students evacuated after threat

NICEVILLE —Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a threat emailed to Niceville High School on Wednesday afternoon.

School resource officers from the Sheriff’s Office and school administrators moved students to the football stadium after someone emailed a threat of toxic chemicals inside the school about 1:30 p.m., according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office.

The threat was believed to have originated in another country, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Niceville and North Bay firefighters conducted air quality checks in buildings on the campus. Nothing unusual was detected.
