A family visiting from out of state recently made their yearly stop in the Florida Panhandle along beautiful 30a.
“My name is Samantha McNamara and I’m a resident of Alabama,” she wrote to Walton County Sheriff’s Office. “I wish I’d written sooner.”
The family had run into a deputy on their latest trip to Walton County.
“My 8-year-old son and I were shopping in Seaside when he noticed a “cute lady in uniform” and asked if he could ask her questions,” McNamara wrote.
That Deputy was Alysha Dossey, who joined the Walton County Sheriff’s Office in April 2015.
“She was incredibly kind and explained to him her duties,” McNamara wrote. “He even asked to take a photo and she took one with him and it just made his day.”
The McNamara family has ties to the law enforcement community, making her son’s interaction that much more special.
“My husband is a Trooper,” wrote McNamara. “So, we were especially moved by this simple act of kindness and the willingness to teach our youth by setting an example.”
