October 7th “Rollin’ Through the Decades” a Vintage and Antique RV Show 10am – 2pm
View vintage and antique RVs and campers including a 1916 Telescoping apartment and a 1953 New Moon Trailer. Enjoy RV and camping related exhibits, demos and activities. Participants will also get to visit with performer Tim Jackson. At 7pm everyone is invited back to the amphitheater to see a showing of the movie that made the 1953 New Moon Trailer famous. Event is free with regular park admission.
October 13th Art in the Park – Watercolor 9am – 2pm $25
Create your own watercolor with local artist Carol Dickson. Class fees include all instruction and materials needed. Regular park admission applies and is paid at ranger station on the day of class. All classes need a minimum of 5 participants to occur. Classes are limited to 10 participants and participants must be at least 12 years of age. Registration is due 7 days before class date and can be done in the park store or online at www.topsailparkfriends.org?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss. The park store is open seven days a week 8am – 5pm. A different theme and technique are used each class. For more information about Art in the Park please email friendsofthsp@gmail.com.
October 14th Breakfast with a Ranger 9am
The Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, invites you and your family to enjoy Breakfast with a Ranger at the Clubhouse. Join the Rangers of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park for a full service breakfast where visitors will learn about the park, its history and wildlife, and be able to ask the rangers all the questions they have been dying to ask. This program is ideal for the whole family to enjoy. To cover the cost of food please bring a donation of $5/Adult and $3/Child which goes to the Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. Donations do not include park admission, which is paid at the Ranger Station.
October 21st 6-7pm Casper’s Campfire Stories
Join us for “Casper the Friendly Ghost” type stories around the campfire at the amphitheater. The stories are geared to the younger audience but are fun for all! Bring your blanket or chair, insect repellent and a flashlight. Program is free with regular park admission.
October 5, 12, 19, 26 Weekly Ranger Program 3pm
Discuss, learn about and explore the park with a Ranger. Check at the Ranger Station for current week’s topic and starting location. Program is free with regular park admission.
Every Saturday 9am – 2pm
Family Challenge
Every Saturday of the month we invite families to come and participate in our “Geocache Around Topsail “& “Topsail Photo Scavenger Hunt” programs. You may choose to do one or both programs and return to the park store to pick up a surprise at the end of your visit. Enter the park through the main gate and park staff will direct you to the park store to pick up your program packets. You will need a gps or a smartphone capable of gps as well as a camera or smart phone for pictures. Program is free with regular park admission.
