NICEVILLE — A man fractured his pelvis after he crashed his 2007 Honda Accord into a tree on Yacht Club Drive this morning, according to Fort Walton Beach police.

According to Police Department spokeswoman Jo Soria, at around 9:14 a.m., Bryan Patrick Alexander, 33, was traveling east on Yacht Club about 9:15 a.m. when his vehicle crossed the westbound lane and left the road in front of 229 Yacht Club Drive, where it struck a tree.

Speed appeared to be a factor in this crash, Soria said.

Witnesses said they saw a Hispanic man get out of the vehicle, grab a backpack and walk away. Responding Officers could not find him.

Alexander told police there was no passenger in his vehicle.

Alexander suffered a fractured pelvis and was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.

He was cited for careless driving and knowingly driving while his license was suspended or revoked.
