Cyclist injured when struck by car

FORT WALTON BEACH — A man suffered minor injuries Tuesday afternoon when he was struck on his bicycle by a car on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Jean Velez-Roman, 25, was sent to the hospital after Vinqueetra Kinzer, a 25-year-old man from Navarre, drove his 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer into the bicycle lane at 4:15 p.m. and hit the back of Velez-Roman’s bike, the FHP reported.

Kinzer was charged with improper passing.
