Fire destroys vacant Destin home

DESTIN — Crews knocked down a fire at a vacant home in Destin Friday morning.

Rick Moore, a Destin Fire Commissioner, said there were no occupants of the Sibert Ave. home and nobody was injured. The home had been for sale.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is being investigated by the State Fire Marshall.

The Destin Fire Department, North Bay Fire Department, Okaloosa Island Fire Department and the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

The home was a total loss.
