Clint Eagar and his wife, Effie, have just returned from a 10-day safari in the Central African nation of Tanzania. The trip was “business-like”, says Clint. “We decided to shoot our own reference pictures for the entire year. My focus this year is on the big-five wild game of Central Africa; the rhino, buffalo, leopard, lion and the elephant.” Clint and Effie were there for the great mIgration of the big five from southern Kenya into northern Tanzania, marking the end of the wet season and the beginning of the dry season.
His first painting from the trip, pictured center, is a combination of a photo series taken in the Ngorongoro Crater, in Manyara Preserve, from Tarangire National Park and the Serengetti National Park. Serengetti is the Swahili word for “Endless Plain.” 2019 will be dedicated to a series of paintings related to big game art and international wildlife conservation. Stop into Clint and Effie’s studio in Uptown Grayton Plaza to follow his progress.
